As the highest evolved beings, ascended masters have overcome their human DNA’s negative expression in a previous life to attain spiritual enlightenment. The 13 ascended masters are Lanto, Hilarion, Sananda, El Morya, Kuthumi, Serapis Bey, Djawal Khul, Sanat Kumara, Lord Maitreya, Saint Germain, Paul the Venetian, Lord Gautama the Buddha, and Enoch.

1. Lanto

Lord Lanto, also called Chohan of the 2nd ray, is an ancient ascended master who lived in his last physical form in China. His aura has white and yellow radiations in the shape of an egg. He possesses a gentle heart and manifests the threefold flame in his meditation to his followers.

Master Hilarion commands the fifth ray and lords the Temple of Truth, ethereally located near Crete, Greece. He is a role model for science and meticulous methods of learning. Master Hilarion works his influence on scientists and knowledge seekers. He has embodied himself as the Apostle Paul of Tarsus and the philosopher Lamblichus.

Sananda is another name for Jesus Christ, who is identified as a prominent master. Jesus Christ was the Chohan of the Sixth Ray and exhibit the virtues of empathy and divine love. He also imparts lessons on enlightenment and forgiveness. During his physical life, Jesus devoted himself to humanity.

El Morya leads the Darjeeling Council of the Great White Brotherhood. He is the Chohan of the first ray and his aura emanates faith, courage, independence, and certitude. His last incarnation was a Rajput prince in India who later became a monk. Because of his many virtues, he has embodied the crown of authority over his subjects.

5. Kuthumi

Master Kuthumi is considered a master psychologist who has emphasized healing and completeness in his teachings. He is believed to have played an important role in the formation of the Theosophical Society in 1875. He lords over the etheric Temple of Illumination, which is also called the Cathedral of Nature.

6. Serapis Bey

Master Serapis Bey, Chohan of the fourth ray, is the protector of the Ascension Flame. Serapis Bey is known for his devotion to discipline. He stresses on discipline that suppresses human emotions stopping an individual from reaching enlightenment. Ascended master Serapis was a high priest in Atlantis before the kingdom sunk under the sea.

7. Djawal Khul

Djawal Khul is a light master who goes by the name Dwal Kul or Jwal Kul. He is accomplished in the second ray. Djawal Khul has worked tirelessly in the realization of the human consciousness to reach higher grounds of clarity. He has joined energies with ascended masters El Morya and Kuthumi in the past.

8. Sanat Kumara

According to the theosophical society, Lord Sanat Kumara is a supreme soul who is viewed as the “Lord” of Earth and of human beings. He holds a prime position in the Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth in the City of Enoch—the location of the Sacred Fire. In biblical tradition, Enoch is known as the great grandfather of Noah and is associated with stories of ascension and walking with God. Sanat Kumara is represented as a rishi in the Chandogya Upanishad. Sanat Kumara holds a crucial role in the Great White Brotherhood.

9. Lord Maitreya

Lord Maitreya is a bodhisattva who will incarnate during a time when Buddhism severely diminished on Earth. Lord Maitreya will then guide all souls trapped in the wheel of rebirths to achieve nirvana. Some of his incarnations include the Hindu god Krishna and Jesus Christ during the three years that Jesus preached the Gospel. Krishna is a central figure in the Hindu Trinity, which consists of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, representing the cycle of creation, preservation, and destruction in Hinduism.

10. Saint Germain

Master of the Seventh Ray, Saint Germain is known as the guardian of the Sacred Violet Flame of Healing.
