Hello Light Workers,

My name is Jaime, Reiki Master, coach and cofounder of Word of Mouth, a West Hollywood healing sanctuary.

Today, I’m honored to delve deeper into the transformative power and rich history of Reiki. As fellow light workers, many of you already know about Reiki, but together, let's explore its depths and rediscover its profound essence.

History of Reiki: A Journey from East to West

The story of Reiki begins over a century ago in Japan. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, sought a method to heal not just the physical body, but the spirit. His dedication led him to the sacred mountains of Mount Kurama, where he underwent a profound spiritual experience. From that moment, Usui Sensei shared this newfound healing method with the world, a practice we today recognize as Reiki.

Reiki, derived from the Japanese words "rei" (universal) and "ki" (life energy), embodies the flow of cosmic energy that surrounds us. Through the ages, this energy healing method traveled and evolved, finding its way to the West and into the hearts of many, like ours.

Why and How Reiki Is Used: Channeling Universal Love

Reiki is more than just a modality; it's a way of moving through the world, a connection to the universal energy that binds every living thing. As light workers, you might already be aware of the body’s chakra system – the energy centers that govern our spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. Through Reiki, we channel universal life energy to balance these chakras, addressing blockages and reinvigorating our life force.

When I channel Reiki, I'm merely a conduit. My hands hover or lightly touch the receiver, and energy flows where it's most needed. This divine energy is intuitive, wise, and always works for the highest good.

The Wonder of Distance Energy Healing

One of the most intriguing aspects of Reiki is its capability to transcend time and space with distance healing. This practice, known as *Enkaku Chiryo* in traditional Usui Reiki, reaffirms the principle that we are all interconnected through the universal life force energy.

Think of distance Reiki as a bridge: it allows the practitioner to send healing energy across continents, bypassing physical barriers. This is achieved through specific symbols and intentions that the practitioner employs, acting as conduits for this energy flow. Many recipients of distance healing report experiences just as profound, if not more so, than in-person sessions.

In our fast-paced, globalized world, the ability to provide healing and comfort from afar is invaluable. Whether it's a loved one in a different city or someone facing challenges in a distant country, distance Reiki empowers us, the practitioners, to spread healing light and love wherever it's needed most.

Scientific Backing: Bridging the Spiritual and the Scientific

Though Reiki is deeply spiritual, it's also grounded in empirical evidence. Various studies havevouched for its benefits. One such study, published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (2008), found that Reiki can induce significant relaxation responses and reduce pain and anxiety in recipients.[1*]

Another study from Hartford Hospital in Connecticut discovered that Reiki improved patient sleep by 86%, reduced pain by 78%, reduced nausea by 80%, and reduced anxiety during pregnancy by 94%.[2*]

Such research not only validates our experiences but also bridges the ancient wisdom of Reiki with modern science, making it a holistic approach for healing.

Benefits of Reiki: A Symphony of Soul Healing

Whether you're new to Reiki or have been practicing for years, the benefits are vast and profound.

1. Physical Healing

While Reiki doesn't replace medical treatments, it complements them, promoting faster healing, pain relief, and relaxation.

2. Emotional Balance

Reiki can release emotional blockages, allowing us to process and heal from traumas and stresses.

3. Mental Clarity

Post a Reiki session, many experience heightened intuition, creativity, and clarity of thought.

4. Spiritual Growth

Beyond the physical realm, Reiki connects us to our higher self, the universe, and the boundless love that envelops us.

In Closing...

Reiki is not just a healing modality; it’s a testament to the power of the universe, channeled through us. As members of the Galactic Federation of Light and light workers worldwide, it's our privilege and responsibility to harness this energy, not just for ourselves, but for the planet.

Thank you for joining me on this journey today. Remember, Reiki is not just about the hands; it’s about the heart. Continue to shine your light, and let’s heal, together.

In gratitude and light,

Jaime
